Remain Mindful of God While Suffering - Daniel Holmquist - 1 Peter 2:18-21

2009-06-14 by

Last Sunday we learned how those Four New Names in 2:9 and that one metaphor of “resident foreigners” in 2:11 makes all the difference in the world for us. 2009-05-24 by

In part one of 1 Peter we have been given four exhortations: Set your hope fully on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; be holy before you new Father, conducting yourselves with fear; love one another earnestly from a pure heart; and crave the pure spiritual milk of the grace of God in Christ. Now we learn more of the how and why of these instruction. The more we go to Christ, the more we grow spiritually, the more we take in the honor, and the more we live to worship God. In our passage, we can identify two ongoing building projects: The honor project and the shame project.
